Assessments/Portfolios

Throughout the school year the teachers will assess each child’s skill development in six different areas.  Assessments are conducted twice a year in December and May.  The teacher will use observation, skill assessments and work samples to determine the child’s development.  In January/February the teacher will schedule a parent conference reviewing their findings and setting goals for the remainder of the school year.  In addition, the teachers create a portfolio for each child with collected work samples that shows the growth throughout the school year.
